Size and Installation Guide

Choosing the right lighting size is essential for creating a harmonious interior and optimal lighting. Use the guide below to select the ideal dimensions for your space.

1. How to calculate the ideal diameter

Simple formula:

1. Measure the length and width of your room (in meters).
2. Add these two measurements together.
3. Multiply the total by 8 to 10 to obtain the recommended diameter of the light fixture in centimeters.

Example:

• Room dimensions: 4 m × 5 m
• 4 + 5 = 9
• 9 × 10 = 90 cm

Recommended light fixture diameter: 90 cm

2. Fixture height

For balanced proportions, allow approximately 6 to 8 cm of fixture height for every meter of ceiling height.

Example:

• Ceiling height: 2.5 m
• Recommended fixture height: 15 to 20 cm

3. Installation height (pendants)

Above a dining table or kitchen island

Install the light fixture at a height between 75 and 90 cm above the surface.

In open spaces

The bottom of the light fixture should be at least 2.10 m from the floor to ensure comfortable circulation.

4. Installing multiple pendants

If you are installing multiple pendants above a kitchen island or a large table:

• Each pendant should represent approximately one quarter of the length of the surface to be lit.
• Space them regularly to achieve a harmonious and balanced look.

5. Choosing according to ceiling height

Low ceilings (up to 2.5 m)

Flush mount fixtures or semi-flush mount fixtures are the most suitable solutions.

Standard ceiling heights (2.5 to 3 m)

Pendant lights and chandeliers proportionate to the room offer an excellent aesthetic result.

High ceilings (over 3 m)

Larger and taller light fixtures create a remarkable visual impact and make the most of the available volume.
